British Theatre

A Steady Rain is a play produced on Broadway by Frederick Zollo, Michael G. Wilson, Barbara Broccoli, Raymond L. Gaspard, Frank Gero, Cheryl Wiesenfeld, Jeffrey Sine, Michael Rose, The Shubert Organization, Inc. and Robert Cole. The two-time winner of Tony Award – Scott Pask designed the set and costumes for this amazing show. Two-time nominated Hugh Vanstone is responsible for the marvelous lighting in the performance. The participation of Mark Bennett is expressed in the original music and sound design.
On 25th July this year at 12:01(EST) started an exclusive American Express pre-sale of tickets to the general public, for the 12-week Broadway commitment through 6th December of Daniel Craig and Hugh Jackman in A Steady Rain. It begins preview on 10th September, 2009, opens on 29th September and continues on 6th December at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre.
A Steady Rain play marked the Broadway debut of Mr. Craig, star of James Bond movies “Casino Royale” and “Quantum of Solace”, because earlier he acted at the Royal National Theater and in the Peter Hall Company at the Old Vic. Other surprising participation in this musical is the appearance of Mr. Jackman, who plays Wolverine in the “X-Men” movies and has won the Tony Award for the best actor in musical in 2004 because of his representation of Peter Allen in: The Boy from Oz.”
The first production of A Steady Rain theatre was in 2006 at New York Stage and Film’s Powerhouse Theatre. Its vocational world premiere was in 2007 at Chicago Dramatist and was remounted in February 2008 at Chicago's Royal George Theatre. After this it won Jefferson Awards for the Best New Work and Best Production.
A Steady Rain broadway play, written by Keith Huff, is actually the beginning of a trilogy of Chicago cop plays. Recently he finished The Detective's Wife and Tell Us of the Night, which round out this trilogy. The Playwright, Huff, is also the author of Pursued by Happiness, Gray City and The Bird and Mr. Banks.
In the first week there were advance sales for about $3 million and that figure has now more than doubled. The story is real masterpiece of personal test: loyalty, rectitude and impartiality among them.
The A Steady Rain Synopsis says that now people want something fractious and new on Broadway. They think that the Huff’s production is certainly all that and with the participation of Daniel Craig and Hugh Jackman the play will be successful.
