Radio Plays

Bunbury Banter Theatre Company is producing a series of 10min atmospheric radio dramas...based or inspired by folk and fairy tales....think the original Grimm's Fairy Tales! They are for adults so they can be dark but all have some moralistic thread running through them. Many of these tales will be new writing encouraging the mix of our heritage with the new society of today. Fairy tales and Folklore are disappearing into our past, and being replaced by films and computer games. We aim to re-tell these tales of old (encouraging people of today's world) the way past generations inspired our grandparents!

Currently, the season 4 plays are available via broadcast or stream from 91.8 Hayes FM. We have just also joined forces with www.audiobookradio.net, who are airing 'Happiness' from series 2 @ 5.13pm & am from 19th April for two weeks.
We are also live on Blast fm from Monday 28th April. They are airing both Series' 2 and 3. Starting with Series 3 on the 18th, and a different play from the series each day. Series 2 will be aired from Monday 5th May, and run all week. And at the end of each week, on Sunday afternoons at 2pm, repeating the series in full.
You can listen online (www.blastfm.co.uk), or via the broadcast (87.7fm).

Next season...

Our next season is Film Noir based; with shoot-outs, mob bosses, faded stars and a dogged investigation for a missing sandwich! Airing after Easter, Series Four is a real cracker!!

Following series four, we will be returning to the sci-fi genre with a bang! Series five has dystopian worlds, flying saucers, and more aliens than you could shake a stick at!! Don't miss it!!

Cast for Season Four: Becky Wright, David John Watton, Lizzie Conrad, Albert Clack, Henry Douthwaite and Glennon Anderson.

Cast for Season Five: Gemma Cooper, Richard Mark, Tamara Lucas, Richard Woolnough, Jeremy Williams and Glennon Anderson.

Series Four & Five are directed by Tamsin Asbury

Cast for Series Six: Andrew Macbean, Irene Bradshaw, Graham Bowe, Harriet Carmichael, Simon Tcherniak and Glennon Anderson
Directed by Terry Iland
