The CHAMBERshakespeare is an adaptation concept.
Subplots have been stripped away to concentrate the action entirely on Macbeth.
All scenes without Macbeth have been cut - with only one exception for Lady Macbeth -
to allow the play to follow and represent the consciousness of Macbeth.

Only what Macbeth knows and sees can be shown on stage.
As in time-lapse photography, time is condensed and space flies by like an arrow.

A red carpet marks the acting area, actors dressed in black use scarves to delineate and define characters,
lighting is left simple and unchanged (augmented by candles), there is no recorded music or sound effects,
and the actors return into the audience when they are not involved in any scene.

Such an atmosphere creates an intimate and intense ritual, in which the audience are included as participants.
