What I do... (Actor, director, designer, teacher etc?)

I am a web-video activist who learned his craft through years of 'community video production' at grass-roots level in Camden, followed by a web-apprenticeship through participation in one of London's first ever internet cafes (The Global Cafe in Soho Square), where I adapted 'community video' for delivery of material through online video-over-the-web.

Worked for the company which pioneered the use of prerecorded video cassettes. (1979 -1982)

Worked for a company creating a first computerised system for running a prerecorded video cassette library (1982 - 1983)

Participated in the creation of a 'fringe theatre' in Putney - Lotus Productions, where we made studio space available to small independent production companies in the heyday of Channel4, and produced an in-house production of "Do you know the MilkyWay" (1983 -1986)

Joined Theatro Technis as a voluntary activist, with involvement as part time stage manager and ran the video workshop there. (1986 - 1989) (resumed association again with its 50th Anniversary Celebrations during 2007)

Contributed as stage manager to touring a Theatrical Production of 'The Diary of Anne Frank' with the Avis Von Herder dance troupe to schools in south east england. (1990)

Worked with a network of artist friends within the Cypriot Arts Forum in Camden to contribute to initial efforts to foster reapprochement in the Cypriot community in London, at a time when this was not possible in Cyprus. Contributed to staging numerous activities including touring theatrical productions of 'Oranges and Lemons' to schools in North London and contributed to staging the Camden Cypriot Festival 1991 and 1992. (1991 - 1992)

Joined Interchange Studios, in its days at Tallacre, and remained with them up to the time of their move to take up the then-newly created resource at the former Hampstead Town Hall ( http://www.interchange.org.uk )(1993 - 1996)

Joined The Global Cafe team, in a flagship and pioneering internet cafe activity which emerged from the first ever internet cafe at Cyberia, an activity which in its heyday operated an internet cafe in London, Geneva, Singapore and Ireland, but did not survive the first collapse of the internet bubble in 2002. (1997 - 2002)

Created Aspects MultiMedia Productions (see my personal website, detailed on this profile) as an independent production facility and media-aggregation activity, working at grassroots level on a variety of video activities including issues of environmental activism and archiving 'the process' of the UN not 'solving' the "Cyprus problem", (2003 - 2005)

Worked as computer system administrator and video archivist, retrieving some historical archives, and recording a year's worth of activities to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of The October Gallery at London's Bloomsbury ( www.octobergallery.co.uk and the Theatre of Infinite Possibilities http://www.allpossibilities.org )(2005 - 2006)

Video recorded and archived activities by a group of 'environmental and social activist' friends ( www.circlecommunity.org and www,myspace.com/earthcircistv ) (2006 - 2007)

Resumed contact with Theatro Technis on the occasion of its 50th Anniversary with the creation of on online video archive of its year of celebrations and place online selected video material from its previous activities. ( www.theatrotechnis.com and www.myspace.com/theatrotechnis ) (2007 - 2008)

The first thing that inspired me in theatre...

Innovative improvisational theatre which addresses issues which are of relatively 'fringe' or 'minority' interest and which are not addressed by most mainstream theatrical and broadcast media

The activities of Theatro Technis, and the Theatre of Infinite Possibilities

The thing that annoys me about our industry...

That some of the most innovative theatre takes place in the unfunded or hardly-funded 'voluntary' sector
