Profile Information

What I do... (Actor, director, designer, teacher etc?)
I'm a teacher turned actor, and now am the artistic director of Jump the Moat Theatre Company which I set up in 2008. I've written and directed a number of productions for various companies, and am concentrating now on producing quality theatre that is appropriate and accessible to young people.
My Quick CV
Having left university with a degree in physics and computing, I went into teaching, and later into IT. My passion for theatre took me to the Oxford School of Drama, and since training there have worked with Shakespeare4Kids, SNAP Theatre, Oxford Touring Theatre Co., Theatre Set-Up, Rainbow Theatre, Blunderbus and Sixth Sense Theatre for Young People. I'm now trying to take the best of all of those companies to inspire and inform the work of Jump the Moat Theatre Company.
The first thing that inspired me in theatre...
Seeing visiting productions in school when I was a wee boy, and being taken to the Phoenix Theatre in Leicester to see a very early production by David Wood, one of the icons of theatre for children.
My favourite theatre something is...
The "hairs on the back of you neck" feeling when something works so well!
The thing that annoys me about our industry...
The last-minute call for a 30 second audition that leads to nothing, and the persisten lack of courtesy when phone calls are not returned.
