Clips, broadcasts and coaching

Clips of our plays

The 'My music' section on the left has clips (trails) of our current productions. Hope you'll have time to listen to them. They're only about a minute long.
It would be great to hear what you think about them.

Broadcasts

We've had a number of broadcasts in the USA and UK. The latest was Pluto on Audio Book Radio.

We'll post other broadcasts here as details become available.

Coaching

We also provide life coaching courses for those involved in media or the arts. See our website for details - some free courses available.

Soft Centres is set in a chocolate shop. It's Valentine's Day, but there's about as much love in this emporium as you might expect in a nest of vipers!

Millicent and Frankie have bee… Continue

Profile Information

What I do... (Actor, director, designer, teacher etc?)
Well, there are two of us actually ...We produce audio drama for broadcast on radio and the internet, and for sale via downloads, podcasts and on audio CD. We also hope to tackle some stage productions in the future.

Peter is also a professionally-trained life coach and offers coaching courses for people in the arts and media industries. He provides some free courses each year.
My Quick CV
We are a Limited Liability Partnership, currently with two members: Andrea Carpenter and Peter Brown.

Andrea has a background in journalism, and Peter has been developing multimedia programmes for more years than he cares to remember. We joined forces after meeting through a fringe production of Marsha Norman's 'night Mother in Camden, and decided to produce audio plays.

Peter used to be theatre reviewer for London Theatre Guide Online (http://www.londontheatre.co.uk) and wrote over 200 reviews of West End and fringe shows.

We've now got a catalogue of 4 plays which vary in length between 15 minutes and almost an hour. One of them stars Sir Derek Jacobi and Joanna Lumley.

We've had broadcasts on volunteer and university radio stations in the United States, and have a broadcast of The Desk on 'Audio Book Radio' for the week beginning 4th May.

Our main objective is to help writers, directors and actors to get their work produced in order to show the big wide world what they can do, and how good they are at doing it. We also like to have some fun while we are producing plays.

We have plans to produce quite a lot more drama, including a custom-written one about a train journey. We also hope to tackle some classics as well as Shakespeare in due course.
The first thing that inspired me in theatre...
Peter says: ... working myself to death building scenery and stage managing plays and light opera while at Queen Mary College. The university owned the old People's Palace Theatre in the Mile End Road, and it was having the chance to work in an enormous, professionally-equipped theatre that was really inspiring.

Andrea is thinking about what inspired her.
My favourite theatre something is...
Being totally engrossed in a damn good play or musical.
The thing that annoys me about our industry...
Not having cash to do all the plays we'd like to.

Hi and welcome to the site. I'm looking to set up a variety of casual events in the foyer bar of BG Theatre (Lincoln) for the autumn season. In the pipeline are a book group, acoustic nights, spoken word and incidently radio play events.

You mention that you create and sell radio plays. I would be interested in buying audio CDs from your company for our events. Do you have samples/descriptions available?

Thanks,

Julie

Hi Peter,

thanks very much for having a look at my profile and answering my questions.
You're right, I'm very keen to get on the radio, and am working on a small voicereel from some plays I've recorded previously. I would be very happy for you to consider using me in the future, there doesn't seem to be much opportunity outside the mighty BBC so it would be great to work with people who provide radio outside that.
I've attached your website to my favourites and will keep an eye out for your future productions.

Thanks again!

Zoe
