My Quick CV
Sam grew up in London and emigrated to Australia in 1998. Whilst in London, Sam
worked with the W11 Children’s Opera Company, appeared in short films for the BBC and worked on the BAFTA award winning TV series Roger and The Rottentrolls.
Graduating from NIDA in 2002, productions there included Academy Award Nominee Nick Enright’s production of The Three Sister’s, Pericles, The Fruits of Enlightenment, Saved, Country Music by Nick Enright and Jarrabin
Since graduating, he has appeared on ABC Short Stories ( ABC Radio Arts ),
in Road Rage ( S and S ), Stained (The Darlinghurst Theatre) The 24 Hour Play Project (Downstairs Belvoir) Jim Sharman’s production of What The Butler Saw (Company B) The Homecoming (CompanyB/B Sharp 2003) The Birthday Party, ( Company B/B Sharp 2004 ). Black Milk (Company B/B Sharp 2004 ) Sleeping Around ( Downstairs Belvoir ) Broken Dreams ( Griffin Searchlights), To The Green Fields Beyond ( Tamarama Rock Surfers ), The Hothouse ( Shaft Productions ) and Return To Sender ( S and S ). In 2006, Sam worked as a founding member of Alchemy Theatre Company, helping to build The Lock Up Theatre in Sydney. For Alchemy, he appeared in Romeo and Juliet, Some Voices and The Pull of Negative Gravity.
Screen work includes the short films-Dolores, Sacred ( which he co-wrote ) For Crying out Loud and Call Me Al- a finalist film in Tropfest 2004 which led to regular appearances on 110% Tony Squires for Channel Seven- and the soon to be released feature films Bitter and Twisted and The Bet.
Sam’s plays have been performed before audiences at The Darlinghurst Theatre, The Sydney Theatre School, The Sydney Opera House Studio, FBI Radio, Short and Sweet and NIDA.
Sam will soon be appearing in The Pugilist Specialist at The Darlinghurst Theatre.
