What I do... (Actor, director, designer, teacher etc?)
Theatre Centre is dedicated to commissioning, producing and touring the best new writing for young audiences into schools and theatres.

The company was founded in 1953 by Brian Way and in the years it has actively supported writers from Black, Asian and other minority backgrounds.

It continues to cast productions and provide artistic leadership with reference to the cultural diversity of contemporary Britain. It nurtures the grass roots by helping teachers and mentoring teenage writers on the Authentic Voices scheme.

Writers who have written for the company include Oladipo Agboluaje, Amber Lone, Roy Williams, Noёl Greig, Philip Osment, Leo Butler, Manjinder Virk, Benjamin Zephaniah and Angela Turvey.
