Actors-On-Tap

Actors-On-Tap site

I designed Actors-On-Tap to make it easy for actors to get their profile on the web. When I got my own site years ago it was expensive, hard to update and difficult for casting people to read. The AOT profiles are inexpensive and actors can easily update their own details and CVs as well as photos and showreels. Also, by having profiles linked together the site becomes an exciting catalogue of actors that is already popular with casting directors. Have a look if you can:www.actors-on-tap.com… Continue

Hi Eric (Storm), Sorry I did not have my name included originally. Just learning the site. I am Terence Doyle. And I am on AOT. As for your message re the site, all very fair observations. Except I know from working in the film business and running a film magazine that many casting directors are NOT finding the actors they want through agents and Spotlight. Many do, yes. But there are many more casting people than ever before and many of them are looking for fresh faces. And they do use AOT. They like it because it takes them no time at all to search for actors. You are wrong to suggest it takes a long time to go through AOT's CVs. It's just a simple click and they can see the faces. They only need to spend more time if they like the look of someone. And the site is also useful for people looking for unusual characteristics. Whatever, the primary function of the site is to give actors a web presence simply and inexpensively. It is a way to promote themselves. The fact that they are linked to other actors and that that attracts casting people is a bonus. If you could like to try the site. I would be happy to give you a discount. You and anyone else from British Theatre who contacts me via the site before the end of August. Again thanks for your interest. Terence

Hi AOT, (do you have a name?) Anyway, had a look at your site, okay, can you tell me something please. Apart from actors looking for work does anybody else use it? I'm not being cynical, (well, maybe just a bit) but I have a sneaking suspicion that directors etc don't have the inclination or time to sit in front of a computer and sift through a load of actors' c.v's and photos. They just ring up an agent (the first stop of credibility that we all need) look on Spotlight (second stop of credibility) and then call those in for interview that they want to see. Enlighten me, please! All the best, Eric.
