Following a very successful October workshop in Colchester, Real Circumstance is holding its second writer, actor and director development day in London.
Saturday 21st November 2009, 11am – 5pm at the Chisenhale Dance Space, London
Real Circumstance is looking for emergent actors, writers and directors to participate in its series of monthly workshops. Each session gives artists the opportunity to hone their skills in a friendly and stimulating environment facilitated by Real Circumstance.
Working collaboratively, a director, writer and actors will rehearse scenes from new plays, followed by presentations and group discussion with other artists and Real Circumstance.
Cost: £20
Writers: please submit one or two scenes from a work in progress that you would like to have directed and workshopped. Please attach a summary sheet detailing basic information about the characters (gender, age etc).
Actors and Directors: please send us your CV and a few details about yourself. We are looking to develop artists and warmly welcome applicants looking to gain experience.
For more information or to book a place, please contact Ruth Brock on ruth@realcircumstance.com
Participant Feedback:
“Thank you so much for Saturday! It was so valuable to see the work on the scene. What you and the actors were able to find and explore in the short space of time was fantastic. Above all I really enjoyed the day.” Andrew Emerson, writer
“A safe, non-intimidating environment in which to learn which is very important.” Paul Taylor, director
“I really enjoyed being able to develop the work with people who had come from different places of training and levels of experience as it enabled a real diversity. It was great and I cannot wait for the next opportunity.” Charlotte Hunter, actor
“The day was pitched at just the right level, professional yet informal. There was mutual respect in that the company was coming to learn from us as well as the other way round.” Daisy Marsden, actor
