Meeting Up at Arts Theatre

All BritishTheatre.com members have been invited to attend Fringe Report's First Monday Meeting at the Arts Theatre (London WC2) on Monday 5th May (Bank Holiday). This is an opportunity to meet and network with other theatre people and generally have a good time. There is an open mic session where anyone who has a show (or service) to promote can do so (for 60s seconds). It's not as bad as it sounds (trust me) and is actually good fun. So if you have nothing better to do on Monday 5th… Continue

BritishTheatre.com In Second Life

About six months ago, Sugar Seville (see members list) and I set up an island called Odyssey for artists in Second Life - the virtual world. On Odyssey you will find art galleries and a performance space. BritishTheatre.com members should feel free to access this and network virtually. My Avatar is called Pacino Hercules (should you wish to get in touch). Here are some photos from Odyssey:

It took me a long time to figure it out. (Getting sound trax on to myspace or britishtheatre. It sounds complicated but once you have done it once it is easy).

Dear Marcus
Your project sounds good. I am usually producing my own work (my last studio play was actually put on at Trafalgar Studios) but if the script does interest me why not ? send it to me if possible. Best Wishes

Thanks for getting back Marcus. Sorry meant the slideshow on my page. Basically as far as I can work out all the photos I upload go into it. Hunted around the settings and there seems no way to decide which ones go into the slideshow. Am I right in thinking that?

Thanks Marcus, I am having some trouble with it but I think it might be the school's filtering system that is causing all the problems so perhaps this isn't the best way to do what I'm trying to do! All I really want is a normal blog but all the blog sites are banned on the school network. I think I will need to look at the possibility of hosting it through the school's own website, which I was trying to avoid for lots of reasons but nevermind, needs must eh?! Thanks for your help! Jen :o)

Marcus, I just wanted to ask you a favour, I'm in the process of trying to set up a ning network for the Community Arts programme that I am working on. I was wondering if you could tell me how you get the blog entries to show as fully as the do on the front page here. The entry I've loaded onto the site so far doesn't show fully, it just says that I have added it. I'm probably not making sense here but if you could give me any guidance at all it would be much appreciated!!! Thanks! Jen :o)

I think you're right, niche is it, and facebook is not about niche. Ning is way more flexible in it's layout, and it is able to integrate with facebook via widgets. I like both, but when it comes to setting up a site for a particular purpose, Ning is the place! Thanks for recommending it, the Odyssey site has been great : ))
