Dear Sarah, I would just say that although you have a website - sites like britishtheatre and myspace have become much more relevant than websites. That is why I spend more time updating myspace and bt than my website. Why? Having talked to many people - especially young people about their surfing habits it became apparent that a website is seen as a culdisac.
Even though it may have links, it feels like the end of a journey surfing wise. With my space and bth. people visit because when they are there it offers many other places to go via friends list. Also everything is immediate - flash and buttons can be an irritation - information - sound links - film - first page - wham! that is much easier. People don't like to sit there waiting for different pages to load Myspace and bt sites are the future in terms of networking and promotion.
I know people who buy web space and put nothing on it apart from a link to myspace.
Anyway wish you luck and if you need anymore help please contact me.
Kind regards
James

Dear Sarah
It took me a long time to figure it out. (Getting sound trax on to myspace or britishtheatre. It sounds complicated but once you have done it once it is easy.
1. Register with Fileden
http://www.fileden.com/
or anyother freefilehosting service.
2. Upload your mp3 file on to this site.
3. When it is uploaded it will give you a URL link
- it starts with http and ends with mp3
4.copy it
5. Go to
http://www.plebius.org/flashmp3player
and you will see a virtual mp3 player
6. Paste the url link in one of the boxes.
7. When you have finished press on the bottom of the page - button "get code"
8. It will take you to another page with a html code which you must copy.
Where ever you post this html a player will apppear with your track on it.
If you look at www.myspace.com/jameshesford
or britishtheatre/profile/jameshesford
you will see the player there with the trax on.
As I said - it sounds really complicated and it confused me at first but once I had done it it was ok. All this stuff is about html codes and url links. html is a numeric/alphabetic representation of a virtual object eg an mp3 player and a URL link is a channel to draw eg sound/vision/ etc into it.
Hope thats ok.
Kind regards
James
